The Overview Program
Named after The Overview Effect, often reported by astronauts, is a cognitive shift in the awareness that arises during space flight.

The Overview program seeks a similar shift in it's students by providing them with the ability to fly.
The plight of a gifted, but disadvantaged young adult. You can see it in their eyes: an extraordinary awareness, skill, ability, nuance or boldness, yet you know that time may not be kind. Really gifted young adults have a limited duration to leverage their unique abilities and many, if left to hard circumstances, will lose their gifts to cynicism, or worse, they might dissolve over time into a great ideology of discontent and the logics of ennui will erode them, and that will be that—they’ll be scraped to the great void of mediocrity. But, for a select few, there might be another way. Flying, learning to be a pilot, is a greater gift than just soaring aloft. All aviators will tell you it changes you. The journey to your first flight, your first solo, requires an elevation of mind and responsibility. It gives you new beauty, for sure, but the training asks that you become a leader, the leader of the airplane, the master of your fears, the acceptance of your ability, and the character to take the reins of your own fate. Every flight requires this.
